Must-Win Situation At UFC 200 Between Jim Miller And Takanori Gomi

Combined, Jim Miller and Takanori Gomi have won 60 MMA bouts, including 18 inside the Octagon.

But with both lightweights stuck in losing skids, when the cage door closes at UFC 200, they will likely be fighting for their UFC careers.

Officials added the contest to the July 7 event in Las Vegas recently. The card will feature Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz, along with an interim featherweight title match pitting Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar.

Miller (25-8) has fought 21 times for the UFC, posting a 14-7 record. However, he is just 1-4 over his last five, including back-to-back defeats at the hands of Michael Chiesa and Diego Sanchez. The 32-year-old was once on the verge of title contention after winning seven straight fights from 2009-11.

Gomi (35-11) is a former PRIDE champion and is also on a two-fight losing skid. Overall, he is just 3-5 in his last eight, including four losses via finish during that time.

The rest of the current card includes Cain Velasquez-Travis Browne, Johny Hendricks-Kelvin Gastelum, Gegard Mousasi-Derek Brunson and Sanchez-Lauzon.
