It looks like BJ Penn is going to have to start preparing for yet another different opponent for his Octagon comeback fight.
After initially being matched up against Dennis Siver, and then Cole Miller, Penn was unable to fight anyone when he originally intended after he was suspended by USADA for disclosing his use of an IV infusion in an amount over the allowable limit.
Penn’s suspension is scheduled to come to an end on September 25th, and it looks like he already has a date and an opponent to think about.
Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com is reporting that the UFC is targeting BJ Penn vs. Ricardo Lamas in a 145-pound bout as the main event of UFC Fight Night 97, which will be the second UFC event to ever to take place in the Philippines.
UFC Fight Night 97 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.
