Jose Aldo Feeling his ‘Fire Inside’ to Compete Again Ahead of UFC 218

Jose Aldo knows what it takes to compete at the highest level.

As a former featherweight champion, Aldo sat atop the division for several years.

Now, he gets the chance to return to that spot this Saturday when he faces Max Holloway for the title at UFC 218.

Aldo accepted the fight on short notice, as he was scheduled to meet Ricardo Lamas later in December. But an injury to Frankie Edgar opened the door for a rematch with Holloway.

“Everything worked out the way we wanted,” Aldo said. “It was actually good for me. This change was good for me.”

The loss to Holloway is one that Aldo has been thinking about for several weeks.

“It was a tough fight,” he said. “It went down the way it was supposed to go down. I learned a lot from that.”
