Retirement? Gray Maynard is Eyeing Top Names at Featherweight

Gray Maynard isn’t thinking about retirement, in fact he wants to be at the top of the heap at 145 pounds.

Many would argue that Maynard’s best days are behind him. “The Bully” has gone 2-5 in his last seven outings. In those five losses, he’s been finished three times. It isn’t all doom and gloom, however as Maynard won his last bout against Teruto Ishihara back in July.

During a recent appearance on MMA Junkie Radio, Maynard said he believes he’s in for a turnaround:

“(At) 145, I really want to make a statement. I want to get to the top names. (At) 155, I believe I could do that too. But I’m down at (145), and it’s pretty easy to make. But if I’ve got to go up to get a fight, I’ll do it if that’s what it takes.”
