Ben Askren Puts UFC On Notice Ahead Of Trade Rumors

Yesterday (Wed. October 24, 2018) news broke about a possible groundbreaking trade between the UFC and ONE Championship. The UFC would send former 125-pound champion Demetrious Johnson to ONE, receiving welterweight great Ben Askren in return. This would be the first-ever major trade in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA).

With Askren possibly coming to the UFC, it opens the door for several interesting match-ups. Askren against the likes of Georges St-Pierre, Tyron Woodley, and Khabib Nurmagomedov are certainly interesting prospects. In the midst of trade rumors, Askren took to Twitter to put the UFC’s elite on notice. Askren first warned former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington:

might get beat up by first but I’m calling dibs on whipping him next. He is despicable”

Askren then teased a possible fight with current UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov:

“Anyone know another Russian that needs humbled the old country way?”

And finally, Askren made it clear that anyone and everyone needs to be worried about his pending UFC move:

“Now you’re all in big big trouble!”

What do you think about Askren calling out Covington and Khabib?
