Darren Till wants a crack at Conor McGregor. Both men are coming off losses, so the fight could potentially make sense. McGregor was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov earlier this month (Sat. October 6, 2018) in his Octagon return. Till was defeated by Tyron Woodley in September in his first-ever UFC title opportunity.
Both McGregor and Till lost their respective title opportunities via submission. Till is currently debating whether or not he wants to move up to middleweight, or remain at welterweight. It looks like the Englishman will be willing to stay at 170 pounds with a potential fight against Conor McGregor.
He took to Instagram to propose a stadium fight against the Irishman before his “retirement fight.” Till wants to bring the UFC to Anfield and pack the 54,074-seat football stadium in Liverpool. He thinks McGregor is the opponent that can make it happen (via BJPenn.com):
“[Conor McGregor] before your last retirement fight in [Ireland], Anfield, the true [gorilla],” Darren Till said on Instagram (edited for clarity).
Check out this screenshot from Till’s story, in which he tagged McGregor:
“Lets go [Conor McGregor] and sell it out!!”
