Ben Askren now has a UFC win – albeit a controversial one – and he’s already eying prospects for his next fight. “Funky” seems to have his eye on former UFC welterweight title challenger and decorated striker Darren Till. He took to Twitter shortly after UFC 235 to call “The Gorilla” out:
Hey @darrentill2 now that there isn’t much standing between us, I don’t see your loose gums flapping. See you in London, sucka!

This prompted a response from Till, who said he’d see “Funky” in London for his fight against Jorge Masvidal:
Ben, your performance was shit.
You barely won.
You are ugly as fuck.
That chin is too big not to miss.
You have no respect for no one.
Ohh… did I say you were a curly headed fuck.
See you in London muppet! https://t.co/HTlDQP5m4g— Darren Till (@darrentill2) March 3, 2019
Askren fired back by warning the Englishman not to duck him again:
I’ll take that as a yes. Don’t duck me for an easier fight this time. https://t.co/BxJCdjRjKf

On the main card of this past weekend’s (Sat. March 2, 2019) UFC 235 pay-per-view (PPV), Askren picked up a first-round submission win over Robbie Lawler. However, there’s some controversy as to whether or not Lawler was actually rendered unconscious by the choke. Despite this, the fight still goes down as a submission win for Askren in the record books.
He has his eyes on Till, who is set to face Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC London this month. Till suffered a second-round submission loss to Tyron Woodley in their welterweight title bout at UFC 228 in September. It was the first defeat of his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career.
What do you think about a match-up between Askren and Till?
