Conor McGregor may have retired from mixed martial arts (MMA), but his trashing of fellow UFC stars certainly hasn’t stopped. “The Notorious” took another personal jab at UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov last night (Tues. April 2, 2019). This was nothing new for the Irishman, who insulted Khabib’s family, religion, and more prior to their fight at UFC 229.
However, this time, McGregor decided to take a shot at Khabib’s wife. McGregor took the Tweet down shortly after posting it. Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, responded to McGregor’s antics this morning (Wed. April 3, 2019). Abdelaziz said that McGregor was insulting 1.5 billion Muslims with his comments before labeling the Irishman “a rapist, and a b*tch.”:
“Talking sh*t, this guy is insulting someone’s wife and making fun of her religion and belief. He doesn’t realize he’s insulting 1.5
Khabib defeated McGregor via fourth-round submission back in October. After the fight, a Team vs. Team brawl broke out, which resulted in suspensions being handed out by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). McGregor’s suspension is set to expire this month, while Khabib’s will be lifted in the summer.
McGregor has expressed interest in rematching “The Eagle,” however, after failing to come to an agreement with UFC brass on his return, teasing retirement, and a sexual assault accusation out of Ireland – it might be a while before McGregor returns to the Octagon.
What do you think about Abdelaziz’s response to McGregor insulting Khabib’s wife?
