Perhaps ZUFFA Boxing, as it turns out, was not left out of the festivities for UFC Freedom 250? It may not have been after the appearance of legendary former unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury at the event.
Fury appeared at the UFC Freedom 250 card at the White House, making an entrance and doing a short interview with Jon Anik. Anik asked Fury if he wanted to make an announcement, but Fury passed that task onto Dana White, the UFC CEO and President, as well as the head of Zuffa Boxing.
When asked about Fury’s attendance and what the big announcement was, White did not give a direct answer.
His response, however, has drawn interest into the idea that Zuffa Boxing may have some sort of connection with Fury, if not signing the former heavyweight champion completely.
“For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been hearing from the media and other people that I’m not involved in the fight,” White said. “I’ve been hearing that Tyson Fury couldn’t get out of the country and couldn’t get into the United States, and it just seems like everybody’s always wrong.”
Fury made his return to the ring in April, defeating Arslanbek Makhmudov. It was his first fight since retiring from boxing after a pair of undisputed title fights with Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.
Fury will meet Anthony Joshua this November.
Zuffa Boxing just had its first event outside of the U.S. on June 6, hosting an event in England.
UFC Freedom 250 took place on the White House South Lawn approximately one year since it was first teased by U.S. President Donald Trump.
