Steven Koslow Wins First Fight After Four-Year Layoff

After four years away from MMA, Steven Koslow got his hand raised and bounced back from his UFC debut, as he defeated Chad Anheliger during the UFC Edmonton prelims.

Anheliger got off to a better start with his strikes, using his reach and speed as he landed. Koslow looked for power shots, however, and he managed to score a takedown of Anheliger. There, he controlled the rest of the first round as he landed some strong shots from up top.

Koslow landed a powerful punch early in the second, sending Anheliger into retreat. The fight went back to the ground, but Anheliger got an arm around the neck and threatened a choke before the fight returned to the feet. But Koslow took the fight back to the ground and in mount, with hooks in, threatening submissions and landing strong ground-and-pound.

Koslow got the fight back to the mat in the third, and this time he was able to lock in the choke and score the submission.

This is Koslow’s first win in the UFC and his first fight in four years. His last bout saw the sole loss of his MMA career, losing his UFC debut to Cameron Saaiman at UFC 282.
