UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland claims that he is facing a charge of disorderly conduct after being escorted out of the UFC Fan Fest hours before UFC Freedom 250.
“I may have been charged with disorderly conduct,” Strickland said on Instagram. “I don’t know what that is but it sounds cool.
“I just want to thank you fans. I can’t thank you guys enough. After being banned, you guys riding, supporting me, it means a lot to me.”
Strickland has previously claimed he was “banned” from the UFC Freedom 250 event. UFC CEO and President Dana White has since stated that Strickland was not banned, but he was left off the guest list due to capacity concerns.
Nevertheless, Strickland made his way to the UFC Freedom 250 Pre-Fight Press Conference on June 12, where he was swarmed by fans.
Strickland then made his way to the Fan Fest before the event, where he was escorted away by security.
Disorderly conduct is a Class B misdemeanor in Washington, D.C. If charged, Strickland could face up to 90 days in jail and/or a $500 fine.
