It looks like Chael Sonnen is back in the cable television broadcast industry, as officials from ESPN announced today that the former FOX analyst has signed on to provide studio commentary for the sports cable network.
Sonnen, who worked as an analyst for FOX as part of their partnership with the UFC, was fired from the job after he failed multiple drug tests leading into his scheduled bout with Wanderlei Silva earlier this year.
The Washington Post reported the following today regarding Sonnen’s return as a broadcast analyst:
“Sonnen will provide studio commentary and on-site analysis for ESPN. Senior coordinating producer Glenn Jacobs tells The Associated Press the network knows about Sonnen’s mistakes, but he has paid for them.”
