UFC Women’s Bantamweight contender Jessica Eye recently shared her thoughts on a potential super fight between Ronda Rousey and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, and had an interesting take on the situation.
When asked about the Ronda Rousey vs. Cyborg fight, Eye specifically focused on Justino insisting on talking about the fight without being willing to make the drop down to 135 pounds to make it a reality.
“Yes. I mean I’ve been very vocal about it before, and you know [I have] nothing against Cyborg by any means, but until you make 135, I don’t wanna hear it,” said Eye during a recent appearance on Submission Radio.
“I don’t wanna hear it. That’s like me sitting there being like ‘yeah I’m gonna go to 115 to do this’. Well until I do it, it’s just talk,” she continued. “I mean talk is cheap in this sport. You know you can’t talk a lot and then not put up, because if you do then the fans and the industry will just suck you dry and get rid of you and continue on with life.”
Eye concluded, “So until she makes 135, I don’t want to hear anything else about it.”
During the interview, which you can listen to via the YouTube player embedded above, Eye also talked about her upcoming fight with Miesha Tate at the UFC On FOX 16 event, which takes place on July 25, 2015 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
