Ex-porno star Aaron Brink targets Kimo & $1,000,000 prize

SANTA ANA, California (June 25, 2007) – Former porn star Aaron Brink is caught between a rock and a hard place, MMA fighting-wise, so he's focused on winning New Era Fighting's (NEF) “World's Toughest Man” contest, already a global affair with registrants coming from all over the world, and ultimately beating his good friend Kimo Leopoldo for an unprecedented $1,000,000 winner-take-all purse.

Brink – “The Bad Boy” of NEF — was the new MMA group's second signing, right after Kimo. Aaron automatically has a berth in the final round of the “World's Toughest Man” contest, scheduled to be held in several months, because he's a member of the NEF stable. Meanwhile, Brink has had trouble securing MMA fights because he's considered too risky an opponent for established fighters and too tough to be in sanctioned fights against relative newcomers.

“The 'World's Toughest Man' contest is the most appropriate competition for me to finish my career,” Brink said. “The top ranked fighters won't fight me because I'm too risky and commissions won't sanction bouts for new guys against an established fighter like me. I'll review the tryouts and those fighters won't be afraid to fight me. They look at beating me as a way to get into the sport. But I'll use my experience to find their holes or weaknesses. There's always a way to beat somebody.”

The way Brink views the “World's Toughest Man” contest is that he will emerge as champion and earn the right to fight his close friend, living legend Kimo, for an anticipated $1,000,000 winner-take-all purse, headlining a full card for a pay-per-view broadcast live from Las Vegas at a date to be determined.

“I hate to say it because he's a great guy and a dear friend,” Brink noted, “but for $1 million I'm going to put our friendship aside for a night with Kimo. We've trained together in the past but never fought. We've talked about it; either he or I will be victorious and take the $1-million. It's business, not personal. I can even see us training together leading up to the fight. None of these other guys are the same caliber fighters as Kimo and I, unfortunately, good friends are going to have to fight, but it is for a very large purse.

“Knowing him and knowing what he's capable of, I can't really say who'll win until it's all done with. I really can't say anything other than if he wins, it'll be by submission; if I win it'll be by knockout, a strike. I'm known as a slugger and he's good at submissions. He'll use his grappling skills, but I've been working on being a more complete fighter, and I will be prepared for him.”

The 10 tryout survivors, as well as fighters like Brink who already have signed NEF promotional contracts, will compete on a show in several months for the right to be crowned “World's Toughest Man.” Tryout sessions will also serve as scouting opportunities for NEF to sign fighters.
