Anderson Silva Lashes Out At UFC 208 Critics: ‘Find Out First Who I am & What I Did For The Sport’

Anderson Silva is none too pleased with his critics.

Silva, who is the longest reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title holder in the promotion’s history, walked away with a unanimous decision victory over Derek Brunson at UFC 208. The result was met with controversy as many felt Brunson won the fight. One judge even scored the fight 30-27 in favor of Silva.

The scoring did not sit well with Brunson, who is expected to appeal the decision loss. “The Spider” has heard critics of his UFC 208 bout and he took to his Facebook account to address them.

Nowadays it’s easy to say that the fight is my root, it’s raining the people who speak of struggle and you do not know what it says. So, when I come up in the octagon, seek first to know who I am, respects who came to where I am. I arrived very well, no disrespect to anyone, with a lot of fight and pride in my chest.

So, you talk too much, seek to know first who I am and what I did in this sport.

Many think I’m arrogant and pretentious? I can be yes and much more, not because I was considered the best fighter weight-for-weight of the world. No, no, it’s for my accomplishments, it’s because of what I really did for this sport. I broke barriers for all corners of the world where I fought, pride, shooto, Mecca and other events that those loudmouths ell never heard and don’t know how it is. I’m from a different time, when I didn’t have a weight limit and not of time. I really fought for passion, not for money or fame. Loudmouths ell and fighters frustrated, who read this text, I can be arrogant, overbearing and a lot more than that, I’m Anderson Silva, who made and makes a difference in the sport.

I’m not afraid and I don’t fight, I defended the belt for 10 years, none of the recent champions has managed to defend for more than 3 fights.

So it’s my thanks to all that like me and those who don’t like it, will have to accept that Anderson Da Silva, the spider ?, is a fact and you can’t change. I’m the best in the world yeah! For the joy of many and sorrow of others.

I can only say that as soon as we see in octógonos of life.
