Bellator MMA announced on Friday the signing of (Resurrection Fighting Alliance) RFA Featherweight Champion Justin Lawrence.
Lawrence, who sports an overall pro MMA record of 7-2, has officially signed a multi-year contract with the promotion, which includes a stacked 145-pound division with such fighters as Bellator Featherweight Champion Patricio “Pitbull,” Georgi Karakhanyan, Daniel Straus, Pat Curran, Goiti Yamauchi and Julio Cesar Neves.
“Its been a big week for Bellator, with Gleristone Santos, Phil Davis and now Justin Lawrence joining the ranks,” said Bellator President Scott Coker. “We remain committed to not just signing proven stars, but also recruiting top prospects from regional promotions, evidenced by our recent signing of RFA featherweight champion and top young up and coming fighter Justin Lawrence. I said it before and I will continue to say it, we will build them from ground up and hit it from the top down.”
Lawrrence trains at Alliance MMA in San Diego, California alongside Bellator stars such as new signee Phil Davis and former Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler.
As things stand now, there is no word yet on when, where or who Lawrence will be fighting in his Bellator MMA debut.
