Former Bellator title contender Rick Hawn noted on social media recently that he has been released from the promotion.
Hawn wrote on Twitter late Tuesday night, “Received my walking papers today, gotta keep pushing forward and improve as a martial artist. Ups and downs are part of the fight business.”
A former two-time Bellator tournament winner, Hawn has come up short in his last two fights, losing to Dave Jansen and Douglas Lima.
Hawn noted that despite the Bellator release, he will not be retiring from professional MMA.
“I won’t be retiring,” said Hawn. “There are other organizations out there! I still have some good fights left in me no matter how my last two came out!”
