Heather Hardy Will Only Return To Boxing For Title Fight

Heather Hardy is one of the rare cases in combat sports, in which an athlete regularly competes as a high-level boxer and mixed martial artist. Hardy currently holds an undefeated boxing record, having competed professionally since 2012, of 22-0. In fact, she most recently competed this past weekend (Sat. October 27, 2018). Hardy defeated Shelly Vincent via unanimous decision.

As a mixed martial artist, Hardy has been fighting since the summer of last year. She holds a record of 2-1, with her sole loss coming via doctor stoppage. Hardy has kept active in both sports very regularly as of late. However, it looks like she could possibly begin focusing more on MMA in the future.

Following her victory this past weekend, speaking on Sirius XM’s “Fight Nation,” Hardy noted she’ll only return to the squared circle if a championship is on the line (via MMA Junkie):

“A lot of people were asking, like, are you done with MMA?” Hardy said. “And the answer is no. I’m not done with anything, I’m taking the rest of my career one fight at a time, because I want to see what the best option is for me.

“I’m not going to do any more boxing fights unless they’re for a world title. There are three more world titles out there I want to unify. If I can’t get a fight with any of those girls, it’s going to be hard-pressed to see me back in a boxing ring.”

What do you think about Hardy saying she’ll only return to boxing for a championship fight?
