As previously reported, on Sunday evening, Kimbo Slice’s next opponent for his Bellator MMA return was made official.
In a rematch of one of the most-watched MMA fights of all-time, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson (6-2) will meet James “The Colossus” Thompson (20-16-1), Bellator MMA President Scott Coker announced during a brief appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter on ESPNews.
Slice comes into the Thompson rematch riding a two-fight win streak, having defeated Dada 5000 (Dhafir Harris) and Ken Shamrock in his last two fights. He is also coming off of a 90-day suspension for failing a drug test.
The Slice-Thompson rematch will take place at the Bellator MMA event on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Additionally, a long-awaited rematch between Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley was announced for the 7/16 event. The two first met in the UFC where Daley took a shot at Koscheck after losing to him via decision, a move that ended up costing Daley his career in the UFC.
