Anthony Joshua Set To Make United States Debut This Summer

Reigning WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is set to make his United States debut this summer.

Reigning WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is set for his United States debut. Joshua will head over to the United States this June. Up to this point, Joshua has fought his entire career in his native United Kingdom. He’ll face Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller from Madison Square Garden in New York City on June 1st.

Reports from Ring Magazine and ESPN confirmed the news. The fight will air on the DAZN streaming service. DAZN executive chairman John Skipper reportedly “lobbied aggressively for Joshua to make his U.S. debut.” It looks like he’ll get his wish. Joshua is undefeated in his boxing career with a record of 22-0. Of his 22 victories, the former Olympic gold medalist has won 21 by knockout. Only Joseph Parker has ever managed to take the Englishman the distance.

He’ll step into the ring against “Big Baby”, who also sports an undefeated record of 23-0-1. Miller defeated Bogdan Dinu back in November by way of fourth-round knockout. With the victory, he captured the interim WBA-NABA and vacant WBO-NABO heavyweight titles. Now, he’ll attempt to pull off one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. Perhaps dethroning Joshua before a big-money fight against the likes of Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.

What do you think about Joshua making his U.S. debut against Miller this summer?
