TNA Wrestling founder and owner of the new Global Force Wrestling company, Jeff Jarrett, reportedly contacted Chael Sonnen regarding working with Jim Ross on the upcoming New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome event in January.
According to one source, Sonnen felt the call from Jarrett was just a courtesy call from someone who wasn’t really familiar with his work.
While Jarrett is in charge of deciding who works with Ross on the upcoming wrestling pay-per-view show, it’s said that Ross has significant input on the decision as well.
At one point, both Jarrett and Ross were leaning towards TNA Wrestling announcer Mike Tenay as his broadcast partner for the show, which is called, “Wrestle Kingdom 9.”
New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “Wrestle Kingdom 9” takes place at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on January 4, 2015, and will air as a co-promotion with Global Force Wrestling on pay-per-view in the United States.
