Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic announced on his personal blog today that he is no longer scheduled to fight at DREAM.5 on July 21. He had been slated to fight Jerome LeBanner, who apparently pulled out of the fight vs. Cro Cop in order to fight Semmy Schilt on a K-1 card in a kickboxing match.
Instead of fighting an alternate, Cro Cop has pulled off the card entirely and will instead use the time to rest an injured elbow and to also undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee, possibly as early as tomorrow. According to Cro Cop, he could be ready to resume fighting in time for DREAM.6 on Sept. 23.
