Dana White Not On Board With Conor McGregor vs. Anderson Silva

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White isn’t a fan of the idea of booking Conor McGregor vs. Anderson Silva.

Silva went one-on-one with Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 234 this past Saturday night (Feb. 9). Despite losing via unanimous decision, the 43-year-old Silva proved he still has some fight left as he had his moments in the bout. After the fight, McGregor said it would be an honor to fight “The Spider:”

“Anderson is one crafty, crafty Martial Artist. You only develop these methods through years of hard fought experience. Phenomenal performance. The crafty veteran. Big respect always. It would be an honor!”

White was asked about the possibility of such a match-up during the UFC 234 post-fight press conference. He wasn’t enamored with the idea (via MMAJunkie.com):

“Did he really (say he wants Anderson)? No, I don’t like that fight at all.”

“The Spider” responded to McGregor’s tweet when speaking to reporters. Silva is still interested in making the bout a reality:

“At this point in my career and in Conor’s career, it’s a very interesting doing something special for the fans. I think a superfight, me and Conor, is very interesting. We’ll see. The future inside the UFC is very interesting because everything changes fast. I’m ready to come back to fight.”

If Dana White were to change his mind, would you watch Conor McGregor vs. Anderson Silva?
