MMANews.com's own Scott recently talked with Ultimate Fighter season one stand out and top UFC Middleweight fighter Mike Swick to discuss a number of MMA and non-MMA topics. Below is a complete transcript of the interview.
MIKE SWICK INTERVIEW
MMANews.com: First off let me say thank you for taking your time to grant MMANews.com this interview, it means a lot to your fans and myself, so thank you. Lets start off with some easy questions. With your recent loss to Yushin Okami do you feel like that set you back in title contention?
Mike Swick: Definitely. It was a bad fight for me.
MMANews.com: Is there anything you're working differently on since your loss to Yushin?
Mike Swick: Same stuff different weight. I am 170 [lbs.] now.
MMANews.com: Do you know when your next fight is going to take place and who you are fighting?
Mike Swick: September I think, not sure who.
MMANews.com: Like you just mentioned, you have been talking about moving to 170. Is there any truth to that?
Mike Swick: Yes. I have been thinking about doing it a long time now.
MMANews.com: How do you feel you match up with UFC champion Anderson Silva? Also how do you feel you match up with Pride champion Dan Henderson?
Mike Swick: They are not in my weight class anymore but I still would love to fight Anderson. He would be a great match up stylistically. A winner for the fans.
MMANews.com: What are your thoughts about the upcoming fight between Rich Franklin vs. Yushin Okami at UFC 72?
Mike Swick: Good fight. I think Franklin will take him. Okami's strengths are size, strength and that southpaw trip takedown. None of this will be a problem for Franklin. Franklin via decision.
MMANews.com: If you could fight anyone in MMA past or present who would it be.
Mike Swick: I don’t know [laughs].
MMANews.com: What were your thoughts on the current string of considered upsets in the UFC, such as [Matt] Serra vs. [Georges] St. Pierre, Mirko CroCop vs. Gabriel Gonzaga and so on?

MMANews.com: Now lets get to some questions to find out who the real Mike Swick is. What’s your favorite pizza/burger place?
Mike Swick: Sonic Burger.
MMANews.com: What are your favorite movies.?
Mike Swick: Too many to list! [laughs] I am a huge movie buff.
MMANews.com: Not sure if you play videos games but if you do what are some of your favorites?
Mike Swick: I am playing Scarface now. It's great! I met the guys who made it at the Spike TV VGA awards and they did a great job!
MMANews.com: What do you do when you're not training?
