Frank Shamrock Gives Thoughts On Ken Shamrock Returning For Bare-Knuckle Boxing Match

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, MMA legend Frank Shamrock shared his thoughts on his adopted brother Ken Shamrock returning at age 50 for a bare-knuckle boxing match on pay-per-view.

“I don’t know, I mean when I first heard about it I thought it was a joke,” said Shamrock. “Like a media thing, a media hook or something, but yeah, I mean it looks like he’s intent on doing it.”

The younger of the two legendary Shamrock’s continued, “I think it’s kinda crazy, but I mean I don’t know. Who knows what I’ll be doing when I’m like 51, 52. I might get a crazy desire to jump off a mountain or do something crazy like that.”

Shamrock went on to speak about the issue of finances as it relates to older, aging legends of the sport.

“I hope that it’s not because he needs money,” said Shamrock. “I hope that he’s taken care of his business and stuff and this is what he’s doing in his spare time, but who knows. Who knows. I think by looking at the industry, like I said earlier the money flow goes one way.”

Shamrock continued, “I think we’re going to see a lot of guys like Ken, you know a lot of guys like Don Frye and the older generation. There’s just no more money. There’s no more physical beings, there’s no more ability to work, there’s nothing for them. And in a real sports industry there’s a layer built there where those guys are honored and taken care of, and can support and just participate in the industry.”
