The September 27th, 2006 edition of CFZ Radio (Combat Fighter Zone) from radio.mmanews.com is now online!
On this week's show, host Luis Cruz started off the show with temporary co-host Matt Boone (filling in for regular co-host Seth Petruzelli of Ultimate Fighter 2) running down the UFC 63 “Hughes vs. Penn” pay-per view from Saturday night.
From there it was time for this week's first guest, none other than the stand out from The Ultimate Fighter season one, the charismatic “Crippler” Chris Leben! Leben joined the show and discussed his last fight with Jorge Santiago, his first UFC loss to Anderson Silva, the upcoming Rich Franklin vs. Anderson Silva title fight, a possible rematch with Mike Swick, his thoughts on the Middleweights of Ultimate Fighter season four and why they don't impress him, among many other topics!
The show didn't end there. Hosts Cruz and Boone discussed some major MMA and boxing stories such as the Kazushi Sakuraba ongoing health scare, the passing of female MMA and boxing fighter Shelby Walker, B.J. Penn's supposed rib injury sustained during the Matt Hughes fight at UFC 63, Joe Riggs' personal issues, Bernard Hopkins' desire to unretire to challenge a current Heavyweight boxing champion, and the WBC ordering a rematch between James Toney and Samuel Peter.
