“Furious George” Battles “The Snake” as Bodog Fight Re-Opens “The Vault”

For Immediate Release

December 17, 2007

Mixed martial arts powerhouse Bodog Fight will broadcast never-before seen bouts this Tuesday and Saturday on its multi-award winning website, bodoglife.net/fight.

Tuesday, December 18 don’t miss a hard-hitting episode of Bodog Fight: The Vault featuring Blake “The Snake” Fredrickson (13-4-1) and “Furious” George Kassimatis (6-1) in a lightweight (155 lb) title fight filmed last year at a Bodog-sponsored Elite FC event in Vancouver, Canada.

“The Snake”, who hails from White Rock, British Columbia, trains with the Revolution Fight Team, where popular Bodog Fighters Bill “The Butcher” Mahood and Jose “Pele” Landi hone their skills.

Coming off a bizarre fight against American James Birdsley (27-3) in which the “Birddogg” was disqualified for biting, Fredrickson admits he will have to be on his game early in order to keep pace with the aggressive Kassimatis.

“I'm a slow starter,” says Fredrickson. “I usually get beat up in the first round, but I need to get hit to know I'm in a fight.”

As his opponent’s nickname implies, “Furious” George will be more than happy to oblige by pressing the pace early on.

“That suits me fine,” says Kassimatis. “I tend to come out fast and hard with a lot of energy. Usually, I have to remind myself to relax a bit.”

Fighting out of Posener’s Pankration Fight Club in Vancouver, “Furious” George had won his previous five fights at welterweight (170 lb), before dropping down a weight class for this, his first fight at 155 lbs.

Will it help or hurt his chances in this title fight? Tune in to find out.

Then, Saturday, December 22, don’t miss a second episode of The Vault as “The Man of Steel”, Merritt Warren (7-1) takes on fellow American, Victor Vitola (3-0).

Filmed in September at a Bodog Fight sponsored HOOKnSHOOT event in Evansville, Indiana this lightweight bout features a couple of all-action performers and genuinely nice guys.

“Victor is…well…..as my wife puts it…pretty,” laughs Bodog Fight commissioner and HOOKnSHOOT promoter, Jeff Osborne. “He’s a good guy who always seems to have a smile on his face, but inside the ring he’s a bad ass with solid ground skills.”

His opponent is also easy for fans to like, says Osborne.

“Merritt is active in his church and mentors a group of young children, who call him 'Bubby'. He is a very spiritual person, and no one has EVER heard him utter a cuss word!”

Oh yeah, he can also fight.

“Very few people in MMA have the athletic credentials of Merritt Warren,” says Osborne. “He’s a multiple Golden Gloves boxer with several appearances at the National Championships and several Muay Thai titles to his credit. He is very tough to beat.”
