According to Sherdog.com, the proposed mega-155 lb. bout between Josh Thomson and Gilbert Melendez is off the Strikeforce card set for March 29th.
Originally, the fight was to be a featured attraction on a show that is now officially headlined by the highly-anticipated Frank Shamrock vs. Cung Le Middleweight bout.
The reason the fight is off is due to a shoulder injury Thomson sustained during training. Apparently the shoulder has been injured in the past and this was just a re-aggrevation type deal. Thomson is scheduled for surgery on Thursday to repair the damage.
