Alexander-Sakara and Two Welterweight Wars inked for UFC 75
By Thomas Gerbasi
Nebraska’s Houston Alexander wasn’t too subtle in sneaking up on the mixed martial arts world at UFC 71 in May as he knocked out Keith Jardine in a single round. So on September 8th, fight fans are expecting even more from `The Assassin’ when he returns to the Octagon to face Italy’s Alessio Sakara in a light heavyweight bout on the highly-anticipated UFC 75 card that has Fight of The Night (or Knockout of The Night) written all over it.
UFC 75 is headlined by the title unification bout between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton `Rampage’ Jackson and his PRIDE counterpart, Dan Henderson. Also slated for the card are intriguing matchups between Mirko Cro Cop and Cheick Kongo, and Michael Bisping and Matt Hamill.
Also added to the show, which will be aired on Spike TV in the United States from the O2 Arena in London, England is a welterweight bout between `The Irish Hand Grenade’, Marcus Davis, and rising British star `Relentless’ Paul Taylor, and another 170-pound matchup featuring US knockout artist Anthony `Rumble’ Johnson against London’s Jess `The Joker’ Liaudin.
