Jake Paul Claims His Camp Is In Talks With Conor McGregor’s Team

If Jake Paul is to be believed, then his team is in touch with Conor McGregor’s people.

Paul has long called for a showdown with McGregor. Ever since transitioning to the world of boxing, the YouTube sensation has eyed the “Notorious” one as an opponent. Thus far, Paul has amassed a pro boxing record of 3-0. Along the way, he’s beaten former Bellator and ONE Championship titleholder Ben Askren, former NBA star Nate Robinson, and fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib.

Paul is set to take on a man who many believe to be his toughest test to date. He’ll take on former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley on Aug. 29. The bout will headline a Showtime PPV card.

During an interview with The Herald, Paul revealed that he is still pushing to share the ring with McGregor in the future (h/t Sports Bible).

“I think it will happen. Look, I mean, I’m the money fight for Conor McGregor right now. There is no other fighter right now who is on a bigger level than me that is calling out Conor McGregor and wants to fight Conor.

“Our team is in touch with his team and there’s talks of it actually happening. And people at first thought I was just joking when I said I wanted to fight him. But now it’s as real as it gets, it’s more real than ever and by the way, if we do fight, I’m going to knock him out.”

While Paul knows a showdown with McGregor would be the most lucrative fight of his boxing career, he feels Woodley serves as a greater challenge.

“I think Tyron Woodley is a harder opponent than Conor McGregor. Conor, I think the fame, the money has got to his head, he’s lost that fighter’s edge, that motivation. And look, he’s a smaller guy.

“He’s five, what, eight? He’s 155-pounds, Tyron Woodley is a 200-pound, massive, explosive guy, so he’s a lot more dangerous fighter than Conor McGregor.”

Do you think Jake Paul vs. Conor McGregor will ever take place?
