Josh Thomson Vs. Ashe Bowman Added To Strikeforce At The Mansion

A Strikeforce Lightweight Title fight has been added to the September 20th return to the Playboy Mansion for the San Jose based Strikeforce.

Josh “The Punk” Thomson, who won the title in June after defeating Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez, will make his first title defense against Ashe Bowman.

The fight was confirmed this morning by Strikeforce when contacted by MMANews.com.

Bowman is a product of the Lion's Den who holds a so-so 6-4 record. “The Machine” has not fought since October 2007 but is riding a three fight win streak going into the fight.

Thomson holds a 15-2 record and with his only losses coming to UFC veterans Clay Guida and Yves Edwards. Following his win over Melendez, Thomson found a spot in most top 10 rankings around the internet. He holds wins over the like of Hermes Franca, Rob McCullough, and Duane “Bang” Ludwig.
