We could be on the verge of seeing a boxing showdown between YouTube star Logan Paul and MMA legend Anderson Silva.
We’ve seen many twists and turns in terms of celebrities and MMA fighters entering the world of boxing. Jake Paul knocked out former Bellator and ONE Championship titleholder Ben Askren, Silva defeated former world boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
You may want to get prepped for another “freakshow” fight. Jeff Levin, Paul’s manager, has informed ESPN that his client is in talks with Silva for a boxing clash before 2021 comes to a close. Paul is fresh off an eight-round exhibition match with boxing Hall of Fame elect Floyd Mayweather. Paul went the distance and no official winner was declared.
Levin says talks haven’t gotten to the point where determining whether it’ll be a pro bout or an exhibition is set in stone.
Silva previously expressed his desire to fight Logan. Here’s what he told MMAJunkie following his victory over Chavez Jr.
“Wow – yes, absolutely. I respect both. I have a great relationship with both brothers, and yeah, I think this is possible, too. That’s entertaining. It’s a fight, but it’s entertaining. Logan and his brother are amazing guys. The people like to talk a lot about the guys, but they’re very good people. I respect both, and I respect the sport. I think everything’s possible. I think it’s the next fight may be with Logan Paul, maybe.”
