“Looking for a Fight” Campaign wins a gold medal at the prestigious Cannes Lions Festival
Toronto, Ontario (June 28, 2007)…: This year, The Fight Network, North America’s first and only all-combatant sports and entertainment channel, had the honour of winning a gold medal at the Cannes Lions Festival. The four-part series of 30-second TV commercials feature an “Average Joe’ character who hurls insults and taunts at strangers and passers-by in an attempt to provoke a confrontation.
The spots were created by copywriter Stephen Stahl and art director Mike Cook of Cossette Communication-Marketing, Toronto. They revolve around a deftly-delivered, dead-pan performance by actor Tal Zimerman, whose random come-ons, appropriately, pull no punches. Each spot ends with the question: “Looking for a fight?” followed by The Fight Network’s logo and tagline.
“The Cannes Lions Festival recognizes the very best and most imaginative television campaigns. We are honoured to have won a gold medal at one of the most prestigious international festivals and to be named one of the best alongside some of the very best brands in North America including Nike, Procter and Gamble and Coca-Cola,” said Stephen Stahl of Cossette.
