Murilo “Ninja” Rua, who was scheduled to face Joey Villansenor in the semi-main event to create the first Elite XC middleweight champion, is off Friday night's show in San Jose.
Rua failed his California State Athletic Commission physical and the title match has been canceled.
It was one of two title matches, the other being Frank Shamrock vs. Phil Baroni for the Strike force middleweight title, on the show billed as “Judgment Day” on the Showtime/EXC/Strike Force joint production.
They are attempting to line up a new opponent for Villasenor for Friday's show.
That was the one fight I wanted to see most under the Baroni-Shamrock header. Damn.
