The Head Hunter Joins the WheyUP Team

Mixed Martial Arts fighter Paul Buentello will endorse new energy drink that is packed with whey protein

Chandler, Ariz. — June 7, 2007 — Paul Buentello, a world-class Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter has joined the WheyUP team. Buentello, nicknamed “The Head Hunter” for his aggressive style, will endorse WheyUP for his upcoming bout on June 22 against Carter Williams (3-1-0 in MMA). The fight is scheduled to air live on Showtime pay-per-view. The Buentello-Williams match is on the undercard of the Ken Shamrock-Phil Baroni championship bout.

WheyUP, the original protein drink with energy, combines 22 grams of whey protein with an energy formula in a sugar-free, non-carbonated beverage. It represents a breakthrough in the sports energy drink market.

“WheyUP is a great product that I will use while training for my upcoming fight,” said Buentello, a 33-year-old native of Amarillo, Texas . “WheyUP provides the energy that I need for an extreme workout, but it also has the protein and amino acids to help my body recover. While training for a fight, my body tends to get sore and muscles are broken down. The protein in WheyUP helps to repair those muscles.”

Buentello (22-9-0 in MMA) now fights for the Strikeforce Fighting Championship organization. In his debut in the UFC (UFC 51) in 2005, Buentello knocked out Justin Eilers in 3:34 of the first round. His next fight (UFC 52), Buentello took out UFC veteran Kevin “The Shaman”” Jordan with a guillotine choke submission at 4:00 of the first round. At UFC 55, he lost a title shot against UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski.
