According to multiple sources, former WEC Champion Paulo Filho was shot in the leg during a party on Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Psicoticos por VT was first to report that Filho had a discussion with a man during a party and ended up being shot in the leg. Afterwards, the shooter immediately left the house.
Filho was rushed to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. His medical status is unknown.
Filho (23-6-3) last fought in February, dropping a three-round decision to Andre Muniz at Bitetti Combat 19, and has a compiled a rough 7-5-3 pro MMA record since his last WEC fight in November of 2008.
