Report: Nik Lentz To Step In For Dan Lauzon At UFC 103

Fiveknuckles.com sent along the following scoop:

Sources close to the fighter have informed FiveKnuckles.com that Minnesota Mixed Martial Arts trained Nik Lentz will step in for the injured Dan Lauzon against Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 103. The event is scheduled for Sept. 19 in Dallas, TX.

Lauzon, who is coming off an 8-fight win streak, was forced off the card after injuring his back during training. No word on a time table for his recovery. Both he and Oliveira's contracts were picked up by the UFC following the demise of Affliction's MMA fight promotion operations.

Lentz, 23, wrestled collegiately at the University of Minnesota and was a 2-time Minnesota state wrestling champion. He's put together a 16-3-1 MMA record in his young mixed martial arts career, earning notable wins over Drew Fickett and Dan Loman. He takes a 6-fight win streak and a very prestigious corner with him into his octagon debut.
