World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo recently confirmed the date and venue for the upcoming WSOF Welterweight Championship match between current champion Rousimar Palhares and his next challenger, Jon Fitch.
Palhares vs. Fitch is scheduled to take place at World Series of Fighting 16 on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Palhares, a controversial figure who was banned from the UFC for repeatedly holding onto dangerous submission holds longer than necessary, won the WSOF title with a 69 second submission victory over Steve Carl at WSOF 9 back in March.
Fitch earned the title shot with back-to-back decision victories over Marcelo Alfaya and Dennis Hallman, after losing his WSOF debut to the newest addition to UFC’s Welterweight roster, Josh Burkman.
