Rumour: Fedor Vs. Arlovski Could Happen In October

Fighthpye.com has an article up in which Fedor Emelianenko spoke to a French newspaper and informed them that his next opponent would be former UFC Heavyweight Champ Andrei Arlovski.

From the article on Fighthype.com:

According to French website Fightsport.fr, undisputed WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko has revealed that his next opponent will be former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. Apparently, Fedor's previous long layoff combined with his quick win over Tim Sylvia (36 seconds) has left him eager to get back in the ring as soon as possible. “I want to recover the lost time and fight more this year,” Fedor supposedly informed the site. “The next Affliction event is scheduled for November, but we will try to move it to October so that I can prepare properly for my fight with Dream in December,” he continued.

The article also goes on to state that Fedor may fight Mirko Cro Cop again on a DREAM New Years Eve card and that he will fight Josh Barnett in March of next year. I'm not sure where Randy Couture fits into that schedule or if this newspaper article is even legit. No one stateside has confirmed anything so it should be interesting to see what happens over the next little while.

The word out there is that the next Affliction show will be November 8th so this article stating he would fight in October throws a wrench into any plans Affliction may have had of hosting the show unless Affliction will be in October or it was just a mis-communication between Fedor and translators.
