Sean O’Malley Claims Drunk Luke Rockhold Confronted His Father

If Sean O’Malley is to be believed, then an intoxicated Luke Rockhold pestered his father.

Rockhold is a former UFC Middleweight Champion, while O’Malley has been trying to break through in the UFC’s top 15 bantamweight rankings. It isn’t always the case when one fighter approaches the father of another. This is especially true when the two fighters are in different weight classes. O’Malley claims that’s exactly what happened.

During an episode of the TimboSugarShow, O’Malley made quite the claim. He said Rockhold drunkenly pestered his father about O’Malley’s Aug. 2020 loss to Marlon “Chito” Vera (h/t Sportskeeda).

“They were in Whitefish. Luke (Rockhold) was drunk and he kept telling my dad ‘Chito beat your son’s a**’. My dad said Luke was super (buzzed) but he kept saying ‘Chito beat your son’s a**.’ Why would he be like that?”

As far as what made Rockhold heckle his father, O’Malley believes it was due to a brief conversation the two had earlier that day.

“Luke said (to my father) ‘do you not know who I am?’, and my dad said ‘you look familiar but I don’t know’. So that probably p*ssed him off. I don’t know the whole story.”

Rockhold is set to share the Octagon with Sean Strickland at UFC 268 on November 6. The UFC brass wanted O’Malley to compete on that same card but was unable to. This left UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby none too pleased with the “Sugar Show.” O’Malley said Shelby became rather passive-aggressive with him after turning down a spot on the card.
