Gegard Mousasi vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou
Round 1
Mousasi lands a stiff jab to get the action started. Mousasi connects with a head kick and Soukoudjou scores with a left to the body and an uppercut. Two straight kicks slap the cup of Soukoudjou. Soukoudjou pieces together a jab, low-kick combo and Mousasi taunts him. Sokoudjou lands another hard left to the body and throws Mousasi to the canvas. Mousasi gets to his feet and tries to trip his opponent, but Soukoudjou takes the top position. Mousasi reverses the tide before the horn sounds.
Round 2
Mousasi vs. Sokoudjou.The fight goes to the clinch, and Mousasi lands knees to the thigh and body. Mousasi opens up with his hands and eats a right-hand counter for his efforts. Mousasi again tries to trip his opponent, but he ends up on the bottom, as Sokoudjou shows excellent strength and balance. Mousasi uses a kimura to sweep. From the guard, Mousasi exclusively throws power punches from both hands. Sokoudjou absorbs many of them clean. Sokoudjou rolls over to his side and covers as Mousasi unloads with his right hand. Referee Dave Smith has seen enough. He saves Sokoudjou at 3:43 of round two.
