RING OF FIRE 31: UNDISPUTED !! will take place on Saturday, December 1st 2007 at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
The 12 bout MMA event was titled UNDISPUTED, as there will be a total of Three ROF Championships contested that night. The promotion's Light Heavyweight, Heavy weight, and Flyweight titles will all be up for grabs.
Women's MMA Highlight ROF 31 Card
Three of the feature bouts of the evening will be in the Womens MMA division. Headlining the women's matches will be Fight Girl Reality TV Star Michelle THE KARATE HOTTY Waterson as she faces Lynn LIGHTS OUT Alverez of Las Vegas, NV.
Waterson stands 5'5″ and weigh 115 lbs. Waterson is known as much for her good looks as for her fighting ability. Just as the Waterson-Alverez fight should highlight the striking arts of MMA, then the match between Colorado's Cat Albert and New Mexico's Nikki Garcia should impress the grappling fan. Cat Albert has a base in wrestling, but has focused her training on BJJ. She is one of BJJ Black Belt Mauricio Zingano's top students and has excelled in submission grappling tournaments. She has one MMA victory under her belt
BATTLE OF STYLES
What is the most effective striking style in MMA? Most fans will either say Muay Thai Kickboxing or Western Boxing. That question may be answered in the first women's bout of the night. IKF World Amateur Champion Kate Martinez (Loveland, CO) will go glove to glove with Golden Gloves Boxing Champions Sharayah Hefner. Both atheletes have similar records in their prospective arts, and both have been able to turn their skills in to Championship Belts. Hefner is coming down in weight for this fight, so she may have a slight edge in power. But the real deciding factor could be measured in inches. Martinez stands a long and lean 5'7″ compared to Hefner's 5'1″ Will Hefner be able to get inside Martinez's long limbs to use her power effectively?
