PHIL BARONI VS. AMIR SADOLLAH
Round 1 – No touch of the gloves, and Baroni lands a quick right before clinching. He knocks Sadollah off balance with another shot. Sadollah gets to his feet and pushes Baroni into the cage. Baroni reverses and delivers a stream of blows as Sadollah tries to secure the clinch. On the break, Baraoni continues throwing and lands a couple, but Sadollah appears fine. Sadollah pulls Baroni in close and takes the fight to the fence. The fighters trade short punches while jockeying for position. Sadollah with a knee to the midsection. Sadollah eats a few knees to the body but answers with a right. Sadollah with the clinch and delivers knees while Baroni works punches to the side. Baroni with the takedown, and he stands over Sadollah, who pulls him in close. Baroni eventually backs away, and we restart. Sadollah with a front kick that lands before they clinch against the cage again. Baroni tries a guillotine and throws body shots but eats a right from Sadollah. Clinched against the cage again, Sadollah land a nice knee from the clinch. A second misses but the third lands, and Baroni dips for the single leg. Sadollah fights it off and delivers two more knees before the round ends. It's a close round, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Sadollah.
Round 2 – Baraoni's faced is pretty battered as the second round gets underway. Sadollah immediately unloads a combo, and Baraoni looks wobbly. Sadollah clinches and puts him in the fence and then backs up as Baroni misses on a wild left. Baroni's jawing but eats a shot as blood begins to pur from a cut under his eye. The fighters again clinch, and Sadollah works knees from the clinch. He backs and lands a body kick and then front kick. Baroni answers with an overhand right. Sadollah clinches and pushes the action into the cage. Sadollah lands a couple punches before closing the distance again. Baroni fires off a left-right combo, but Sadollah answers with a combo of his own. Both fighters are bloodied. Sadollah creates distance and then goes high with a kick that Baroni only partially blocks. The welterweights take to the center of the cage. Sadollah has some luck with front kicks. After clinching against the cage again, Sadollah works knees to the body. Some dirty boxing by both before Baroni catches a kick and knocks Sadollah briefly off balance with a soft right. A sloppy exchange in the center of the cage, and we can see the cut from Sadollah's forehead. The fighters clinch against the fence for the final 10 seconds. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Sadollah.
Round 3 – The fighters trade in the center of the cage, and Baroni lands a few decent shots followed with a nice uppercut. Sadollah shakes it off and then delivers a barrage of knees from the clinch. Baroni, though, backs him off with a wild flurry that misses. Sadollah closes the distance with more knees, backs off and delivers kicks and then lands a Superman punch. Baroni whiffs with a right and eats a forearm strike and another. Sadollah backs up for a front kick and then a leaping knee to the body as Baroni covers up for it. The fighters trade stiff rights before Sadollah lands a few more kicks and then a solid Superman punch that wobbles Baroni again. Baroni drops his hands and eats more shots and then a left to the belly and right to the hand. Sadollah goes high with a head kick before Baroni answers with a decent straight shot. Sadollah shoves him into the cage and tags him with an elbow, though. Sadollah with an inside leg kick. Baroni wings a desparation right, and Sadollah closes out the round with knees and elbows. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Sadollah, who should take it unanimously.
