UFC 303 takes place on Saturday night, and MMA News is here to bring you the final faceoffs from the ceremonial weigh-ins!
The upcoming pay-per-view event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena provides a chance for UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira to further enhance his legacy on mixed martial arts’ biggest stage.
After recording a first successful defense at the expense of Jamahal Hill in the UFC 300 headliner, “Poatan” will square off against the man he knocked out to win the then-vacant belt last November, Jiří Procházka.
The co-main event, meanwhile, will see two-time featherweight title challenger Brian Ortega back in action, as he looks to stall the charge of rising fan favorite Diego Lopes. While their clash was originally set for 145 pounds, a late change means they’ll now do battle at lightweight.
Elsewhere on the UFC 303 main card, Anthony Smith welcomes Roman Doldize back to 205 pounds, Mayra Bueno Silva hopes to rebound from her title defeat in January by getting the better of Macy Chiasson, and undefeated welterweight Ian Garry looks to prove his claim to superiority over Michael “Venom” Page.
Ahead of the event, 25 out of the 26 fighters successfully made weight, with Jean Silva’s 1.5-pound miss of the featherweight limit marking the sole indiscretion on the scale.
Nevertheless, every fight has remained intact, and all that remained on Friday was for the athletes to face off one final time at the UFC 303 ceremonial weigh-ins!
