Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle
Round 1
An extremely slow opening two minutes unfolds with both fighters starting cautious. Koscheck gets a takedown to break the stalemate but is caught in a guillotine choke from Lytle's half-guard. Koscheck frees his neck and hits the right side of Lytle's midsection with left hands. Lytle is controlling the positioning by locking up Koscheck's head. Koscheck nearly hops straight to mount while Lytle attempted to work from butterfly-guard. Lytle got back to guard and ate a powerful right hammer fist at the sound of the bell.
Round 2
Koscheck scores a single-leg but again is caught in a guillotine from half-guard. He forces his head loose and begins to tee off with punches and elbows. Lytle is cut above his right eye. Koscheck is starting to dominate with left and right hooks from his opponent's half-guard. Lytle is trapped on his back against the cage, eating leather. Lytle goes for a heel hook but Koscheck has none of it. Lytle is bleeding horribly from two cuts abobve his right eye. Puddles of blood abound.
Round 3
The cuts over Lytle's eye continue to drip blood. Koscheck looks to start the final frame where he left off, as he gets a takedown on his second shot. Elbows open the cuts wider as referee Yves Lavigne watches on closely, but perhaps not close enough. Lavigne stands the fighters up. Lytle cracks Koscheck with a flurry of punches but it is too little, far too late.
Koscheck takes the unanimous decision
