Georges St-Pierre is still training for his potential return to the octagon. ESPN recently caught up with his head MMA trainer, Firas Zahabi, to talk about the status of the former UFC welterweight champion.
“(St-Pierre)’s getting his body in shape and we’re going to explore options in the near future,” Zahabi told ESPN. “I think personally– these are not his words – there is more fight in him. I think Georges is going to make a splash soon.”
St-Pierre hasn’t competed his since split-decision victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167. He previously stated he was open to the idea of a rematch with Hendricks. GSP begin a training camp in November to test the waters and see if he wanted to return.
