Following his shocking first-round knockout victory of Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva at UFC Fight Night Brasilia this past Saturday night, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski has climbed back into the top ten official UFC rankings.
Entering Saturday’s match at number 14, Arlovski now finds himself as the seventh ranked UFC Heavyweight contender. By knocking out Bigfoot, who was ranked number four going into the bout, a number of other fighters were moved around in the official top 15 rankings.
Arlovski’s victory allowed Stipe Miocic, Josh Barnett and Mark Hunt to all move up one spot, as they are now ranked fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Subsequently, Ben Rothwell fell one spot, as he dropped to number ten behind Silva.
Alistair Overeem, Gabriel Gonzaga, Frank Mir, Stefan Struve and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira round out the top 15.
