Former UFC Heavyweight Champion “El Guapo” Bas Rutten has been officially announced as one of the inductees in the 2015 class of the UFC Hall Of Fame.
Rutten will be inducted into the “Pioneers Era” wing of the Hall Of Fame as a fighter who made his debut in the pioneers era of MMA (2001 or earlier).
Bas joins Jeff Blatnick, who will be inducted in the contributors wing, and Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg, a UFC Welterweight title bout from UFC 52 in 2005 that will be inducted in the “Fight” wing.
An additional inductee from the “Modern Era” wing (2001 or after) will be announced during UFC 187 tonight.
