UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman recently made some interesting comments about a potential third fight against former champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva.
When asked by a fan at the recent UFC Fight Club Q&A in Sydney, Australia about the idea of fighting Silva for a third time, Weidman responded by saying, “If that’s what the people want to see, then it’ll happen.” He followed that statement up with this one, “Easy payday? Yeah, pretty much. With all due respect.”
Of course Weidman has to get past his next challenge for that to happen, as he makes the next defense of his UFC Middleweight Championship against Vitor Belfort at UFC 184 in February.
Additionally, Silva would have to get past Nick Diaz, a fight that is scheduled as the main event of UFC 183 in January.
