Cody Garbrandt-John Lineker Expected To Be Rescheduled

Following his eighth victory Sunday night at UFC Fight Night 83, Cody Garbrandt confirmed plans to reschedule his bantamweight bout with John Lineker.

Originally, Garbrandt and Lineker were set for the Pittsburgh-based card, but illness knocked Lineker out. In his place, Garbrandt defeated Augusto Mendes via stoppage.

“We talked with Sean Shelby and (Lorenzo) Ferttita,” Garbrandt said during the post-fight press conference. “Lineker is my next bout as soon as he gets healthy.”

Since debuting in the UFC, Garbrandt (8-0) has scored three consecutive wins. The Team Alpha Male fighter now holds Octagon wins over Mendes, Henry Briones and Marcus Brimage.

Lineker (26-7) is also on a three-fight win streak since a decision loss to Ali Bagautinov. He has moved up from flyweight due to issues with cutting weight.
